Maruk Grommarg's Lantern

Warden issue, Maruk Grommarg's own, his number still stamped on the base. It came to Noname as the last line on the manifest tag of his released effects: Lantern, Warden issue — 1. Nobody at Stores had ever opened the shutter.

The Work

• The front lens has been replaced with a disc of mirror glass, silvered side facing inward, soldered true into the original ring.
• The bevel is ground back to raw glass, and is not flat.
• It is cold, and it stays cold.
• The inside is sooted black from weeks of burning. The reservoir is bone dry.

Who did the work, when, and to what end is unknown. It is not registered with the Mirrorwrights.

Where It Is

Valentro took it to Wylks Ottren the night the effects were released. Wylks asked to keep it overnight for a proper bench, and Noname agreed.
